We’ve reimagined mental health care for today’s kids.
Leiya is a pediatric mental health care clinic designed by doctors to better serve the families we know and love.

The Leiya Process
Leiya’s first step is a comprehensive assessment. Our team prescribes an evidence based treatment track based on the needs of the child and family. Payments are taken care of via subscription. Embedded reassessment of treatment progress after each subscription plan ends.

Our Story
We first met while pursuing our doctorates in Child Psychology. After finishing our post-doctoral residencies and working in a variety of healthcare settings, we started a thriving private practice together. Within a year, we could barely keep up with the demand. The longer families wait for care, the worse the outcomes for treatment can be. As our waitlist grew, so did our frustration.
We also saw how overwhelmed parents were with shuttling their kids to multiple practitioners and being responsible for sharing updates on their child’s progress and treatment with each one. We kept asking ourselves… How can we do better?

Dr. Uhl completed her pre-doctoral residency in the Department of Psychiatry at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland, CA and an APA-accredited post-doctoral fellowship in clinical psychology at Kaiser Permanente Richmond Medical Center’s department of child and family psychiatry.
After completing her post-doc fellowship, she received 2 more years of specialized supervision in the treatment of pediatric OCD and anxiety disorders. She remains committed to ongoing training in and disseminating the best of evidence-based care to kids and families. To this end, she has completed the International OCD Foundation’s certification program in pediatric OCD, and is currently in the first international cohort of clinicians working towards certification in Yale Study Center’s Supportive Parenting of Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE).
In addition to her clinical practice and training pursuits, Dr. Uhl has presented on pediatric anxiety & OCD at international conferences, and is on faculty at UC Berkeley Extension where she teaches courses on child mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment approaches.

Dr. Luby completed her pre-doctoral residency in infant mental health at the Institute for Child and Family Health in Miami, FL, and an APA-accredited post-doctoral fellowship in clinical psychology at Kaiser Permanente Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department in Santa Clara, CA.
She completed 2 years of specialized training in working with infants and toddlers and is certified in providing evidence-based care to children 0-5 and their families. She is passionate about early identification and intervention and maintains a ZERO to THREE membership.

Aside from her private practice, Dr. Luby has worked as a contractor for Lyra Health and Little Otter which have deepened her understanding of the competitive landscape and the scope of services that families need.
