Frequently Asked Questions

Visiting Leiya is like visiting the offices of six practitioners all under one roof. Our multidisciplinary team includes clinical psychologists, neuropsychologists, occupational therapists, educational therapists, nurse practitioners, and parent coaches. The Leiya team has access to the latest technology, training, and tools to ensure that each family is getting the evidence-informed treatments tailored to their specific needs.

For families, this means better outcomes in a fraction of the time – without driving all over town or signing up for dozens of waitlists. For doctors, this means peace of mind knowing that patients you refer to Leiya are in good hands every step of the way.

Our team works with children from age two all the way up through the end of high school. We welcome families with young children because we believe early intervention is one of the keys to preventing mental health issues later in life, but we are here to support all families with children who could benefit from our multidisciplinary care model.

Leiya works with children with a variety of mental and behavioral health concerns or sensory issues, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, school refusal, learning disorders, sensory integration and more. If a child’s care pathway includes medication, our nurse practitioners can also help with medication  management.

Leiya is not the best fit for children or teens struggling with eating disorders, substance abuse or acute suicidality. In these cases, we will refer families to practitioners who can better meet their needs.

Leiya is an out-of-network provider, but we encourage families to work directly with their insurance providers to request reimbursement. We provide superbills that families can submit to their insurance providers. Families can also use Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) to pay for care.

If families would like us to communicate directly with their other doctors, our HIPPA-compliant online platform allows us to send updates to pediatricians or other doctors.

Each Leiya space has been carefully designed to set families and practitioners up for success, and the majority of treatments are delivered in one of our spaces. We understand that it isn’t always convenient or possible for families to come in for care though, so we can supplement in-person care with virtual care when necessary.

Our membership model makes it easier for families to budget for care and enables us to offer higher-quality care. Research shows that mental health interventions are most impactful after at least 12 sessions. When families commit to a Leiya membership, our team can create a personalized care pathway and goals to focus on for a set amount of time.
