Postdoctoral Fellow

Employment Status: Full-Time/Salary Exempt

Pay: $65,000-$80,000/year

Start Date: Monday, August 5th, 2024 (+/- 2 weeks).

Job Overview: The Pediatric Psychological Associate at Leiya will work closely with our licensed psychologists to assist with treatment planning and direct intervention for patients and their families.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assists in providing evidence-based outpatient psychotherapy to youth, parents, and families.
  • Works with Lead Psychologists to create and implement treatment plans that include interventions to meet the psychosocial needs of the patient/family.
  • Participates in weekly staff conferences to select, plan, and evaluate treatment programs.
  • Consults with multidisciplinary staff regarding diagnosis, strengths, and deficits as determined by psychological and neuropsychological assessment and evaluation.
  • Prepares treatment plans and case summaries, and maintains ongoing confidential records.
  • Charts patients’ treatment and progress in accordance with state, federal, and facility regulations and guidelines and in keeping with accepted community standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Leadership Team.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Applicants must have a doctoral degree in psychology (Psy.D. or Ph.D.) from an accredited program by start date.
  • Eligible to work as a Psychological Associate in the state of California.
  • Relevant coursework or training in child development, psychopathology, counseling techniques, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Previous experience or internships in pediatric mental health settings.
    Knowledge of psychological assessment tools, treatment modalities, and ethical guidelines for working with children and families.
  • Thorough knowledge of state regulations and APA guidelines and standards with regard to ethics, treatment, patient rights, and confidentiality.
  • Able to work collaboratively with multiple health professionals in a busy and complex environment using tact, diplomacy, and discipline.
    Strong charting/documentation skills.
  • Multicultural awareness and sensibility.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and work flow.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.

  • This job operates in an open office environment with some level of noise
  • This position requires an approximate breakdown of hours per week:
    • 23 Clinical Hours (in-person)
    • 8 Administrative Hours
    • 1 Continuing Education Hour
    • 8 Consultation, Collaboration, Supervision and Staff Meetings
The psychological associate position is a year long contract with the possibility of extension or hire depending on licensure status.
